Movement that Matters

This is who we are. This is how we move. This is how we connect. This highlight reel showcases moments from our first benefit production WILD, that took place in May 2022, in which we donated $6000 to Girl In The Wild.

Building community and connection through movement.

About Us

  • The Sea to Sky Dance Collective is a non-profit group of experienced adult contemporary dancers who have come together to learn and grow from each other, with the ultimate goal of giving back to our community through dance.

We believe that dance transcends boundaries, and we embrace all genders and identities. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just starting out, come express yourself and connect with a vibrant community.

  • In partnership with Squamish Dance Centre, the Collective offers a welcoming space for dancers in the Sea to Sky community to move together under the shared belief that dance can inspire, connect and uplift. Drop-in classes at accessible community rates are offered sessionally in a variety of styles such as contemporary, jazz and lyrical. The collective also offers occasional ballet, contact improv and heels workshops with guest teachers.

By invitation only, for those at an intermediate/advanced level who commit to weekly rehearsals,  additional dance training is offered for a small membership fee. During this time members of the Collective work collaboratively to build on choreography each week, bringing to life artistic, entertaining, feel-good dance performances for the Sea to Sky community. Funds generated from drop-in classes and performances are donated to local charitable organizations.

Alongside weekly rehearsals, we collaborate with guest artists, create original productions, and participate in community events that bring people together through the joy of movement.

  • Our next benefit production, TEMPUS is taking place on the Alta Lake Electric dancefloor at the Eagle Eye Community Theatre April 23-25, 2026. Proceeds from the show will be donated to the Sea to Sky Hospice Society.

Inspired by the novel Einstein’s Dreams by Alan Lightman, TEMPUS is a groundbreaking collaboration between The Sea to Sky Dance Collective, and newly formed Create-Able Arts Society, which supports artists with disabilities.

Co-directed by Michael K.Hewitt, a talented hard-of-hearing composer with a unique auditory perspective, this production weaves original music with dynamic choreography, exploring the intriguing and reflective theme of time.

TEMPUS marks the fourth production that Michael and the Collective have worked together on and will offer audiences an evocative journey through sound and motion unlike what they have created before.

This project represents more than a performance; it’s a celebration of diversity, artistry, and the power of collaboration.

Join us in shaping a production that promises to inspire and engage, leaving a lasting impact on audiences, artists and the local community.
